Topic: The Election

Who would you vote for? Even if you are under 18.

If you would vote for John Edwards instead of Bush, just vote Kerry.

Re: The Election

You're only 16? Me too. And yeah, i voted for Kerry.

Re: The Election

people like to give me the "throwing away the vote" speech....but voting, in it's purest form isn't about stategically placing votes, it's about someone being given a choice, and from their own knowledge of the choices making the one in which HE feels is the best.  IF somehow in the end, i feel kerry is the best man to run this country out of EVERYONE that is running....i will vote for him.  HOWEVER if after doing some research, i find that Burt Reynolds is the best man to run this country....i would vote for him.

not only that , voting for the green party was NOT throwing away a vote....they were very ....veeeeerrrrrrryyyyy close last election to getting federal election funding.

however....after further relection i think i would vote for burt reynolds no matter what.........god damn cop and a half was a great movie lol

Re: The Election

Listen. People give you that speech because it makes sense. Look at me for example. I'm extremely liberal. I love the Green Party. I love everything Ralph Nader stands for. I don't love the Democrats. But, i hate the Republicans. 99.9% of Green Party voters would vote for Kerry over Bush, no? Okay. He got 2.7% of the vote last election, if those votes had gone to Gore, he would be president and not Bush. Therefore, our enviroment would be cleaner, we would have much more peace throughout the world, most of Europe wouldn't hate us so much, Iraqi children wouldn't have been murdered in petty wars over oil, our economy would be better, and you would probably be making more money. You have good ideals and beliefs, they are probably very, very similar to mine, but i will never "throw away my vote", because as we have learned a single vote in this country does mean something. Don't make the same mistake again. Please. Vote Kerry.

Re: The Election

I was ready for that. Example #1: (and all you really need)...
As we all know it all came down to Florida, because of the bogus and outdated Electorial College. In that sate, the difference between Bush and Gore came down to 500 something votes. Fact. In that very same state, Mr. Ralph Nader recieved near 100,000 votes. 99.99 percent of the votes WOULD have gone to Gore, making the Electorial vote swing his way, and Gore would be president. Fact. Yes, votes would have made all the difference.

Re: The Election

people say that to me too.....but i wonder if they would have voted for gore at all....maybe some would have.....but the green party gave many people the need to vote in the first place...many people who feel the archaic two party system is outdated maybe were brought to the voting booths just due to the fact that there was a possiblity, however small, of that changing....jello biafa's involvement in the green party brought alot of the "punk" population to the booths as well, i feel.....
...and while i feel bush is a HORRIBLE leader.....before you paint a pretty picture out of gore's could-have-been presidency, you must remember who his wife is, and what she did......you think the christian right wing censorship clowns are having a field day now.....i can only imagine.......

Re: The Election

No no. I understand what you're saying. You think i love Gore? Or the Democrats? I'll quote myself:

I love the Green Party. I love everything Ralph Nader stands for. I don't love the Democrats. But, i hate the Republicans.

That sums it all up.

And i also do think that the two party system is archaic. BUT, Obviously Ralph Nader isn't going to win. And while i don't love Gore, and i know their would be problems under his leadership, I can't live another day under Bush. I think he is insane. Therefore, you have a choice. It's a lesser of the two evil situation, and i don't like that. But what are ya gonna do? Vote Smart. Maybe in years to come a third party can emerge with a strong following. It doesn't exist right now.

Oh yeah, this isn't about Gore. It's more about Kerry. Who i find to be better than Gore.

Re: The Election

Yeah me too. Except i already know it. They pretty much hate us.

15

Re: The Election

Keep voting.

16

Re: The Election

If you would vote for John Edwards instead of Bush, just vote Kerry

This is why a poll can never show anything except the bias of the maker.  What if the fact that Edwards lost to Kerry made someone not want to vote Democrat in the upcoming election at all?  And where is that option?  What if I refuse to be forced to choose the lesser of two evils and simply exercise my right not to vote?

17

Re: The Election

Then you don't matter.

This poll was meant for Democrats and Republicans. Any supporter of Edwards will vote for Kerry. I want to see who has more support.

*sniffle*   Okay, that really hurt.   *sobbing*

Re: The Election

Tell you what, we'll split all the "womanly" duties.
I'll do the housework
You can do the shopping.
I'll do all the pointless crying,
And you can do all the taking it up the ass.
