The topic speaks for itself. Lynyrd Skynryd is one of the best southern rock bands of all time. What do you guys think?

They are the band that wrote sweet home Alabama and died in a plane crash, correct?
If not, my vote for yes wasn't right.

they wrote sweet home alabama, but didn't die in a plane crash. one member died, the rest are still alive.

When it comes to Southern Rock, they are damn good.

True, you have to be a fan of southern rock to truly appreciate them. However, songs like freebird and Tuesdays Gone transcend "southern rock." Even the Stones did a cover of that last one.

I agree, mold. I feel it has the ability to draw out real emotion, which is something that most southern rock fails at.
And Pennywise, YOU CAN TELL BY THE WAY I USE MY WALK, I'M A WANTED MAN, NO TIME TO TALK....
