No, I'm not saying it doesn't have heavy fan base. If that's what you meant, because I personally adore grunge.
And I don't mean that Grunge bands aren't still around. Because the best Mudhoney show I ever saw was like in 2001. And I had seen earlier ones.
I mean, the music is dead. No more great grunge is being made. The whole scene is far over. The movement has past. Seattle is on to other things- in underground music.
Bone Thugs. They've been producing brilliant music for years (yes, even after crossroads), yet nobody gives them their props anymore.

and that's just to name a few great bands that have fallen under the radar of main stream music....although some of the bands mentioned broke up
oh and one more thing, no offense to any soad fans......but it's time for a reality check......serge is the number one culprit of ripping off mike patton.....i mean listen to faith no more's "king for a day, fool for a lifetime".....it's the exact same vocal style just years before and better in my opinion...
the long winters are yet another good seattle area band.....man i wish i lived there.....

i actually was going to ask you if you'd heard dismemberment plan, mold....they're great
and let me guess what you disagreed with.....was it...life of agony? they're definately the type of band that you either get or you don't. but, in my opinion, river runs red is one of the most intense metal/hardcore ablums ever, lyrically. not to mention, they're one of the best live shows i've ever seen.
No- well- I'm kind of neutral on Life of Agony.
I saw the D Plan and Death Cab For Cutie live together a few years ago at the "Death and Dismemberment tour" Ha ha. It was great. Aveo opened up for them. I was like. . 14?

I mean, the music is dead. No more great grunge is being made. The whole scene is far over. The movement has past. Seattle is on to other things- in underground music.
Thats a matter of opinion my friend, grunge isn't really getting into the charts but is still popular amongst a large amount of people in Britain.
People adore both old grunge and new Grunge being made E.g Deja Entendu (the latest album by brand new released in feb).
However i do admit most Grunge bands never really tend to get off the ground or rather haven't been doing lately.
oh yeah, one more thing xttz, it doesn't look good when you make a statement and it's obvious you don't know what you're talking about.......

No, I don't think you really understand. Grunge was a scene, a seattle music scene, and that scene is over.
I'm not saying that there aren't many bands that sound "grunge" and continue to be inspired by the music, but it isn't grunge.
Just like how The Darkness sounds like Queen, but they aren't "classic rock".
The scene died 10 years ago, when Kurt was murdered. Most of the grunge bands split after that (coincidence msot likely). Bands like Mudhoney and Pearl Jam contiue to make music (thank god) but the scene is no longer alive. The grunge scene is dead. The movement is dead. The music is timeless.
