I recently read a "foreword" by Aldous Huxley, which had a lot to do with his notions about humans and what "sanity" really is. He discussed how very few people can actually claim to be completely sane. One of his key points was that so much of what we do is emotion-charged, and that since everyone makes decision (at least occasionally) based on emotion, possibly only in part, rather than on stable logic, then we are not fully sane. I found it pretty interesting.
