Re: Bush doing Strong in California

Los Angeles and its basin, about 5-6 million people, is typically very very conservative. San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Berkley, and Sacramento are far more left. However, in recent elections Los Angeles voter turn-outs have been dropping increasingly, where as the other left-ist cities always have a high percentage of vater turn-outs. Now all these cities put together(the left-ist cities) equal about 5-6 million like Los Angeles. This year's election however is far more intense and heated than the previous, which has cause a surge in Republican support throughout my not-so-fair city, my mother being a great example of that with her GB '04 sticker on her car. This would make things equal in all the major cities in California. This leaves central California to make the deciding point. Normally they would vote democratically because of the influence from the north, and the governor(usually being a democrat). However since there is an equal amount of influence coming from L.A., and our governor is now a Republican, it can possibly push Bush over the top and thus, pretty much win him the election even if he loses Oregon, and Florida.

I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you fb. Los Angeles is a lot of hype, but when its comes to the deciding factor it usually fails miserably. The Northern cities however always have, and always will be so liberal in their views that they are able to influence most cities in California very easily by their strength alone. I'd say Bush has a chance, but still not a good one.
