Topic: A conflict between two prominent Players, calling GMs

As for there to be no bias let the names are Sam and Bob.

This is what I have heard and I cannot clarify as truth

Sam bet Bob 50k for a duel. Bob won the first match so Sam gave Bob 50k
From what Sam said, he claimed that one of them wanted a best two out of three match for the 50k. I cannot confirm if that is true or not. According to Bob, an unfair set of rules was laid out so even though Sam won that match, Bob will keep the 50k
Another story is that Bob wasn’t aware that there was a best two out of three for the 50k pot.

This is where I stepped in, in an attempt to settle the matter.

A deciding duel was laid out. Best two out of three. Sam must use his own character and Bob is restricted to using his bow. The only magic allowed is IM. Stealth was banned from the match. Sam used a sword. I took the 50k pot from Bob for safe-keeping.

After three duels with no outside interference, the duel was 2-1 in favor of Sam. Since Sam won, he believed that he deserved the pot. Bob discovered that only the 50k was in the pot and that since Sam didn’t place a additional 50k in the pot, the duel wasn’t legit. Due to that thinking, Bob believed that at least the gold should be split 50/50 between them.

As of this post, I have 50k in my bank and two angry people behind two characters who are mad at me and want the gold. I leave this conflict up to you Faldon, GMs in particular in deciding who the rightful owner of this 50k pot is.

Re: A conflict between two prominent Players, calling GMs

Well the duel shouldnt of even started if not all the money was there, so in a way it could be your fault and you pay 50k to both of them ? tongue or you could just spilt the current money. Myself I would give 25k to each person.

Dont look down here, my message is up there.

Re: A conflict between two prominent Players, calling GMs

well, i wasnt sposed to be in this at all, my only purpose in the duel was for a duel to occur and for sam to stop bugging me about bob. all the money from the first duels wasn't in so i believe that that duel shouldnt have started. bob claimed that he didn't bet so it didnt matter if he won or lost. my point of collecting the 50k was to replay the first duels events. bob thought i was hosting a new duel and that another 50k would be placed in the pot from sam's side.

Why would you give big gimpin 69 an awesome name like bob.

Skawn:

I say hand the money back to Bob. It is Bob's decision what happens
with his money. He is not in agreeance with you taking it and dishing
it out. Faldon has no rules against saying you will give someone money
and not giving it. If the bet goes unpaid, let Sam learn a lesson from
it that he can't expect truth from every statement. Skawn, I guess
the real question is are you a thief? If not return the money to Bob,
let him handle the affair, and stay out of things that are not your
problem.

Re: A conflict between two prominent Players, calling GMs

I think by giving him the 50k they involved him in the problem.

obviously he has trust in Skawn in holding the moneya nd making a decision to the outcome of the event.

i think if only one party dished up the dough before the match. Then it showed only one of them was commited to actually pay if they lost.

I say give sam back his money and stuff bob for placing a false bet.

If it was a legitimate bet then both paty's should have handed you 50k and the winner take all, Or oth keep the money.

The fact that one party involved you and not the other makes the bet have 2 likely outcomes( as seen here) which makes it Non Statistical meaning the bet is now Null and Void. big_smile

Re: A conflict between two prominent Players, calling GMs

Consumed with memories that preceded today
Given a chance to bereave life that's slipping away

Suffered through tragedy of my slow decay
Deceptive tendencies dragged my soul away

All that I know there was no God for me
Force that shatters all, absence of morality

Revive all my fears
Revive wasted tears
Revive void within
Revive once again...

Forsaken by destiny, forsaken by my own mind
I must remove my skin to see belief in your eyes

All that I know there was no God for me
Force that shatters all, absence of humanity

Revive all my fears
Revive wasted tears
Revive void within
Revive once again...

Reach for the sky
Touch the sky
Revive a hope
For mankind

If you read correctly Bob is the one complaining Sam did not
place a bet. Like I said before, Skawn, give the money back
to whoever handed it to you. Don't try sorting out other peoples
issues when you are not fit to do so. If you are REALLY that
concerned about it, hand them both 50k... It isn't a lot anyway..

This isn't a GM matter.

What should have happened is - you should have waited until a Gm or M logged on, asked them nicely to act as referee, and let them set the rules.

I mediated many duels, trades, etc, back when I was around more often.
