Well ive hosted the install Faldon file at uni and there is a link to it on my website.
I got some people to test it and the average speed from Europe-U.S.A and Australasia was 100kb/s+
with some up to 354kb/s
So there is a highspeed Dl for the install file if anyone needs it~
Useful if I ever lose my copy

You may be able to, but it would definately be unhappy if you tried to patch or if a map tried to patch.
Well depends on the format of the Cd, but I wouldnt see it really working well.
Put the install file on a disk, then you can just install the game wherever you want, or if you have to reformat.

That is not true at all. If you run this game off CD you can not get any
patches, of any kind, this includes map patches.
And just to clear things up, no you can not run this game off of a CD.
The game would crash due to the writing it does, you can not run it
readonly.

Hmm faldon folder is approx 370mb.
Could even fit it on a large Flash USB stick

Really? Since when does Faldon support writing to CDRWs? Writing to
a cd and writing to a drive are completely different. You do not have to
open the drive or anything special to write. The CD requires much more,
so Zer would have to specifically write it to support CD's. Oh, and it
would be REALLY slow...

Copying the game files is doing exactly that. Faldon can not run read-only.

Just put the install file on the CD, install it wherevere you need it, and have the updates go to the hard drive.
For those of you who are curious as to why it will not run from
cd, here is why:

This is a Faldon debug screen. Zer created Faldon with a way
to monitor what is going on. Probably to make it a lot easier
when there is a problem. Anyway the file Errors.txt (Which can not
be read in full without a reader program) requires write access.
Without this access the program will close.
(The debug process shown in the image is a simple start up and
shut down of faldon) The window also includes messages such as
login timeouts and such.

Flash drives do not require anything special to write to them. They
work just like the hard drive.

Flash drive should work, allowing updates and all. Waste of a flash drive
in my opinion though.

I do not have a big enough flash to test it. What is the error you are getting?
I don't see any reason it would not work. My flash drive has replaceable
media.. and the current memory is a split 256 so I can't test.
