Well, Necrophagist aren't one of my top favourite bands so I wouldn't really buy their CD. If I did though, I'd buy their first one.

Donkey Kong Country and Sonic The Hedgehog has some nice songs in it. But those are ambient, not techno.

Surprisingly yes, Nick. Most Indie bands have a bouncy sort of late 60s sound to them and others are very emo-ish. Although a lot of "Indie" bands have become a certain genre since they signed on with a record company. But are still regarded as "Indie"
Indie rock is unbearable.

They don't sound different because they don't have a label. They sound different because they try to make their music sound like that.
