Topic: helpa noob day?

i have trouble making money in this game. im told to sell things on the market, but you have to pay a "tax" and no one ever buys things i put on there. im also told to choose a "profesion" like carpentry or whatever. but no one buys potions from me, or weapons, ive never tried making food (but no ones asked for any), or arrows, or squat. This, of course, is just from my perspective and could just be me. and i think there should be a national holiday called help a noob day

Re: helpa noob day?

I think that idea sucks.

Re: helpa noob day?

i figures it was worth a shot....

Re: helpa noob day?

You cannot seriously think a national holiday for noobs in a computer game is a worthy idea.

5

Re: helpa noob day?

I dont think he meant national holiday seriously dude, just like in the game.. chill =p... Of course, Faldon days are only 50 minutes long, lol...

Seriously though, every day should be help a noob day =p

And it is true that the way the economy and the game's balance works right now make it hard for noobs to get started properly... easiest thing to do is probably to start with a warrior char and make some money and levels from monsterkilling.

Ah well.

Kind of hard to make money from leveling with Zammb's idea to no longer have monsters
drop gold.

Re: helpa noob day?

Last time i checked...most monsters from Noob lvl all the way to the top drop Something that is sellable to an NPC or Sacrificeable.

There are plenty of chances to make money as a noob if you keep your eyes open and are prepared to work.

p.s. I already tried the Help a Noob day idea where for 1 hour we took a noob and helped them out in whatever they wanted to do...And if you havnt noticed...the average fadlon player is reluctant to offer help even if you paid them...so there where a few participants but not enough to make mention of again... sad

I'm opening up a shop that sells 13" rulers just so Fireborn stops complaining.

Re: helpa noob day?

I've helped so many noobs start it's not funny. They play for a couple of days and give up (obviously because its too hard for them or the game doesn't appeal  roll )

I would NEVER help a noob. The reason, they quit too soon. Sure monsters drop things
you can sell, but it is NOT enough to support yourself. It is not enough to buy
weapons and such. Also yeah sometimes people are willing to help a noob out and buy
them things, or pay them for chores, but not always. This means that MANY noobs
come around and get no help, then they quit. I have said this MANY times you must
have an environment where a new player can work their own way up. Without this
you have a faulty system, and near no way to gain new players.

Re: helpa noob day?

well, im gonna have my friend start with me this time, (forgot my password for the character walter). form what you guys said, i guess im gonna just gonna quit bitching and asking for help.

Re: helpa noob day?

yeah, and alot of you people need to stop being so fucking hostile towards each other. i wasnt even really serious. mostly joking, somewhat bitching about how hard it is to be a noob. i think if all your gonna do is come in a thread, piss and moan and tell stories about "you should suck your moms cock!" and all this other bs, then you should only post in the trash heap. now if im correct, x to the z, your gonna come back with somesort of negative comment to try and show how bog your wang is to everyone. be my guest-of-fucking-honor

If you put this in the suggestions forum (where it would be more appropriate) you would've recieved less heat. And YOU were the one 'pissing and moaning' about how hard it is to be a noob and how hard done by you are in Faldon.

now if im correct, x to the z, your gonna come back with somesort of negative comment to try and show how bog your wang is to everyone.

Since I think that men who boast about the size of their penis are pathetic, I doubt I would go on about how 'bog' my penis is, especially on this forum.

Re: helpa noob day?

The best example i can think of is the character "Vici".

I got great respect for that kid for how much work he puts in.

Is constantly asking "Does anyone have any jobs for me" and is more than happy to put in the time to get ahead...and he has got a fair whack of cash to show for it now.

And i see your point now in that if someone cannot make it under their own steam then the system has a serious flaw.

But i still think that people put too much emphasis on getting to the top as fast as they can...The problem with Faldon is that it basically ends too soon.

By level 100 most people have acquired the highest equips the game permits them from buying. I made a few suggestions in the requirement changes for items when they where being done simply because players where fast tracking from nothing-to-goldplate/claymore.

If someone cannot afford to buy a 10.8k claymore then there are plenty of 100gp bastard swords they can buy to work for that claymore...OR they can buy a 2nd hand one and work their way up.

The problem with newbs is that they expect so much in so little time. It's why i hate character sales where its like "Hey ive played for 2 weeks im sick of being low...Buying lvl400 character"   Whats the point in playing if your going to skip past all the progression that makes a game.

I have tried making a noob, and have put time, once you get so high there is nothing
you can really do. You can't afford to upgrade equip, and there is no monster to really
switch to. You basically get stuck on Bdrags for ages. What we need for this game is
more weapons, more armor, and more quests to give it meaning.

16

Re: helpa noob day?

Well, quests would be a good idea but last client was highly successful and it didn't have any quests (well there were none that I knew of).

i wasnt pissing and moaning, i was asking for help. and i think i got it now. the whole noob day thing was mostly a joke. not a suggestion. i was saying that it kinda bothers me how you would barg in my thread and strongly disagree with a "suggestion". i just think if you dont like, go into another thread, thats all im saying. i wasnt pissing and moaning. i was bitching. theres a difference. lol.

Re: helpa noob day?

My penis smells funny, should I see a doctor?

Modern cyberspace is a deadly festering swamp, teeming with dangerous programs such as''licensed Microsoft software'' that can take over your computer and render it useless.

23

Re: helpa noob day?

No need for a doctor, Fireborn will solve your problems.

I used to take n00bs deep into the anthill cloak myself, say I died, then watch them get eaten alive. Fun!

It is high time I put something intelligent here.
