Topic: Rules

GMs....you should make a page on the web which shows all the things the players do would get them into jail. cuz  some new people wouldnt know it is cheating to do what they are doing.
And have ALL the GM and M get the same rules, cuz like some GM says it is fine and some says its cheating..wtf   :x   :x   :x

Re: Rules

You could look at the TOS to figure things out, or even better, you can just follow a rule of thumb:

Anything you do that allows your character to have an advantage over other characters that you shouldn't by default have access to, should be avoided.

Macroing, Duping, Z-hacking, etc.

Typical useless Mumblee answer. Next time just don't bother saying anything cause I assure you that did not help Georgia whatsoever.

Georgia is completely right. You GMs and Ms in this game have always been fucked. I know for a fact some GMs will allow you to macro while you are at the computer and others will not, some GMs don't care about cursing and others will mute on sight for seeing it. You guys need to get your shit together and stabilize these rules. Would is honestly be so hard for you to get off your ass; contact Crovax, Illum, Loth, whoever the fuck else is a GM and lay down the law and make a sticky post? Are you telling me that its just to hard? If you want the game to appeal to the common gamer, then you need to clarify. And yes most people do not, will not, and probably won't ever read any TOS from anything.

I think it is time we stop doing things differently. I am tired of hearing from people..
"But Crov..."... "But Caff..."

We need to follow similar rules. So to start with... (And it went on from there...)

So actually your post was a little late, but still you are right. I agree, and am trying
to get this settled. As far as getting things posted on the board, and sticky'd though.
I can't promise anything as I don't have access.

Illum is no longer a GM =p

why?

Once we finish with our discussion in that thread (still some things being talked about, things we need to bring up though it is taking form) I'll have Zer and Coma glance over it/comment on it and will sticky it, make an announcement on the main page and put it on my own site with added comments/examples for the rules. So no worries there.

Imho, most of the rules are pretty much common sense but I guess it is nice to have it clear somewhere.

Re: Rules

Illum is no longer a GM =p

why?

His obliteration of others people work was the thing that I think pushed Spec over the edge.
His rapid change with the armor and weps. He put negitive light resist on claymores and made the minimum dmg less.. lmao.. CLIT is a known over powered spell that he had no problem making it even more.
I think the biggest complaint was his map editing which people said was shitty and charm like. I admit a lot of it wasnt trhat good, but come on... Not even he deserved the insult about charm like. The problem with Zammbi's map editing was that it was cluttered and he would block off area's for no reason with a dense amount of trees.
The are even Screenshots of him floating around of him telling someone who he thought was his friend or something that he was gonna mute and jail Big pimpin69 for him because BP would always kill them.
I also was told many GMs refused to work if he remained a GM.

I still think Zammbi thinks I got him deGMd.. he sure questioned me a lot the day spec got on his case.. he even said, I see yyou have been complaining about me to Spectre. In which I asked Spec if I had said anything to him that made him deGM Zammbi and he said no wink

Overall Zammbi was a bad GM.. but Zammbi > Charm

by god

ZAMMBI >>>>>> CHARM

I would take 100 Zammbis over a Charm

Re: Rules

Actually Spectre was on with me and Caff that day. He wanted to see what
all people were complaining about. He found a lot of things he didn't like.
A) Warzone
B) Dires had walls placed in the middle of nowhere..
C) New map had things floating on like Z 6...
        A) Even trying to erase these things was crashing people.
D) Zammbi placed a bunch of no-purposed NPC's in main town...
E) Zammbi ruined Spectre/Wu's work to CLEAR main map of any
     non-forest-like monsters.
F) Zammbi is color blind. Nothing matched...

Re: Rules

Interesting but whatever...give these people some rules so they don't bitch all the time.

Lmao, I love complaint "F" . . . gotta be the gayest complaint ever, and I mean gay in a literal sense.

Actually, yes, it would be hard, because we live in 4 different timezones.

In regard to your concerns, if you are macroing but still at your keyboard, a GM should never be able to even tell that you are macroing, and thus there is no real issue.  Gms will mute based on when they think that your dialogue is being disruptive to the chat, which could be a number of things (including vulgarity).  The word "bitch" in a comment when used for emphasis isn't going to get you muted by anyone, but when you run a long chain of expletives, you don't really have any grounds on which to complain about your punishment.

Then stay up past your bedtime, be a rebel, don't listen to your mother, and make a list of rules that can be followed by everyone. 'Read the TOS' doesn't cut it.

Do your job and learn your place.

Re: Rules

Haha, 4 different time-zones but.. all but one of us are in the U.S :-p...

I love this quote because it sums it up so well...He logged on after god knows how long absence and then complains because work was done...

When there is only One GM working on the game...then you expect things like this to happen...it just re-iterates the point for more contact to be had between GM's

If zammbi was doing something bad...then it should not have been allowed to get that far out of hand.  Crovmon was in and out a few times in that time and he did not do anything to stop it so i dont see why spectre made such a fuss after so long.

I'm opening up a shop that sells 13" rulers just so Fireborn stops complaining.

Re: Rules

hmmm what does more harm? No GMs whatsoever, or a lack of communication between 3-5 GMs? I am inclined to believe the latter...

Re: Rules

This, my friends, is why I would never want to be a GM.

20

Re: Rules

I think Zammbi got what he had coming. I am pretty much the only active GM still
around. I can get my code uploaded when a GM comes around, often times unchecked,
Yet still, I make sure I get my stuff okay'd. The point is it is not hard to check with someone
before you change things. We may all have different time-zones, but I can say at least
for me, I always am able to contact someone.
