Well I payed zammbi for ages, then djiin gave his char to me and I played that char for over a year, then created a char called zicom when I handed back djiin. I used to play heartlilly here and there. Then owned both greentea chars for a few months. Then created zoluk, and then illumination.

Faldon players are so spoiled now, I sometimes wonder just how sweet it would be to see some of the old players come out of retirement for a brief time just to learn the younguns a thing or two.

Oh wow, ronichocobo... man. I never really knew him, though when I was an utter newb Ive seen him around (or someone using his name otherwise). Wish I could claim I played that particular client, but sadly, the truth is different. Still a lot of reminiscent things though. Heh, do you happen to have any screenshots of Faldon with the version 1 character art? ^_^ That'd be sweet.
Hehe no i am sorry to say that those screenshots are all that are left. Yesterday i mailed Piergeiron and madcat (i still see pier everyday) the m1.mid. You know the music with tududu pududidum... i said nothing else. 15 minuts later i called him and we both were singing tududum over the phone. Ppl at my work asked me what the hell i was doing.
Man the good old days . I just stopped playing EQ1 (after 5 years having max level and AAs) and WoW(after 3 weeks being max level) and both pier and me agreed that those games miss the first faldon elements . Shooting arrows for 16 hours straight at gremlins just to pass level 200 and piles of stats elixers (bows didn't need arrows in those days )
I got some free time on thursday night so i will login to see how the game is now . I was online for 5 minuts already yesterday but didn;t have time to look at all the new things.

You REALLY shouldn't bother. The game sucks at this point.
P.s. Even tho we all like the tududum pudumpudum music, it's kinda pathetic to sing it over the phone when your at work

Lets see, I played hard back in... Well it was pre beta, more in an alpha state, i was level 1600-1700 (not fibbing on this), figure that was like in '94 or '95, it was in that state with a constant development from Zer and Coma with pre-pubescent (LOL) graphics for monsters. I had a few screenshots of this way back a few years ago and had them stored, but recently lost them due to buying a new 320 gig drive. Used to sit on a bridge with my crossbow shooting some funky looking golems, I think they were Earth GOlems or some crap.. lots of skeletons too Also was one of those times we used Earthquake to kill all the monsters on the map, GMs laughed about it until it was fixed... big ol bug but.. oh well, it was fun I suppose while it lasted.
After that is when beta started, Darkness was a good bud of mine (We used to sit in teh centaur pen and cast chain lightning to spam level ourselves and hunt for rare items), I lasted through that client, then when the wipe happened, they used the same map, but updated alot of the coding.. thats when anotehr good buddy of mine, Thorne, joined.. and we were all crazy PvPers with royal in most of our skills. That lasted for several years, then the desert map came, we had a blast trying to kill rats in the beginning of that one.. had to kill rats to get a boat, which you coudl cross that damned 2 tile wide water, and get to the gremlins for fireball and magic missile books.
Spent a looong time in that desert map, i honestly cant remember dates.. then I graduated high school and went into the Marines, was there for 2 years until an injury happened and i was given an honorable discharge, now i work heavy construction and am sitting here now checking up on all my old buddies, and a buncha new guys that think they are the shit
SO figure, around 9 years or more, 10 years *scratches head* whenever it opened its doors WAY back in pre-alpha

Yeah, I fully agree with that, nothing like seeing a couple people who think they are cool because they have big stats and GM equipment
