I have been through the same situation on more than one account. And, I am possibly facing it at the current moment. It comes down to, taking the harder classes that you can do, but not well. Or, the less difficult classes you can do do and very well, at the sacrifice of prestiege <spelling>. I have a similar family, compared to the one you have described. My advice is you take the easier class, as it will be more beneficial, and relieve alot of stress.  If your parents give you hell, then jsut ignore it. Probably sounds like bad advice, but I often find parents wanting the best for thier children, while ignoring how to obtain it. Not everyone is a genius and no one is perfect. You just gotta do what you have to do and take no shit from nobody..  Good luck with that, nonetheless if I have been helpful or not..

How do you fail a class? They are all so extremely easy. You must be huffing too much glue.

I've dropped plenty of classes in my day.  You have to do what you have to do.  College is set up the way it is for a reason, and dropping classes is a natural part of that.  I know very few people here who haven't dropped any yet.

Shit, I even switched out of a major because the classes just weren't working for me.

Nah i happen to agree with you...but how much fun is a discussion without an opposing argument.

I actually had a class that i had taken...About halfway through the semester i decided that unit was not for me...but i had waited too long and could no-longer drop the unit.

I failed the Class and it dragged my very good average right...right down.

Try to explain to your parents that staying in the unit will do more harm than good...and that you think you will do much better in another unit.

As an added piece of advice...if they allow you to change units...make sure you change to one you will pass...otherwise if you find yourself in this scenario again...your parents might not be so leniant

thanks for the advice. I appreciate it, really. Just gotta suck it in and take the punishment, cause I'm getting out of the class by the end of 1st quarter, and transferring into a history class whether parents like it or not.

I think he is talking about a highschool class...if it were college he wouldnt need parental permission.

Like Oman said, he'll drop it whether they like it or not. Because, like Fireborn said, in most public highschools the parents never have a say in it. Also, I like how you capitalized "Final Say"

Also, uh, word of advice to some of you. Consider sleeping during the night and not in class?
