Yea, I remember I took around the packet of information about the new client with me to school, all the updated items, skills, spells, etc. I tried to get more people to play. How long did we go without a client? 7 months?

I still have the original folder after the download which is labeled May 2001 Beta.. I even have the folder after that download which is the June 2001 beta. Also this client was out before 9/11 because I remember Zer's comments over it, and his comments over us going into afghanistan in October.

Agreed, Ive made my chemistry teacher freak out on numerous occasions, the most interesting was when I produced thick yellow cyanide fumes, the most fun was when I made a softdrink burst from a test tube with cap into my face. (I was measuring the sacharose levels in the softdrink, but everyone in class was doing different things so he didnt know. All he saw was some random brown liquid flying from a test tube into my eyes, lol... he totally panicked)
OMG, I'm being so off-topic.... well yea. It was around the summer though I myself was under the impression it was later on that summer, but if so many seem to agree I must be mistaken.

Fireborn is right on the timing. Old client went down at the beginning of that April, and then this client started up at the beginning of May.

will be 7 years of off and on play of faldon for me, in about 1-2 more months.
my cousins originally got me into this game way back, they got me to play nexustk, then they migrated to faldon shortly after our gpa died christmas eve 1998.
anyways, lerris has banned me many times lmao.
mumblee and me used to have sunshade fights way way back when I was known as ssjgoku.
I have known mumblee sadly for too long, also phreak aka lee or whatever his name is, I have known him for a while also, we shared his scribe way way back.

I remember Shadowmage had several bank chars filled with nought but stars... so convenient when you needed to just borrow one.
I remember also that Brian had a diamond/heavens star, that's like the ultimate mage star =p
(Now what would be really scary is a daemons/slaying star... that'd be worth like... from level 1 to level 37 =p And that's not even mentioning other equipment, lol... too bad they become a lot less interesting with the rise of OLS items. (woulda been wicked though if ols were an actual suffix rofl..))
