Someone who adheres to a religion that does not acknowledge the God of Judaism, Christianity, or Islam.
Thank you, dictionary.com. Members of each religion often called each other 'heathens'. They also used this title to describe uneducated folk not of their realm. (if they were of the realm, then they were called peasants, or quite possibly serfs, depending on the time period.)
'Course, now if people come in from a different part of the world, we just call them 'stupid tourists'.
