My point is God. In Faldon you can become good and strong in a short time.
In Faldon the relation is more like, between play-time and character strength. In EVE it's just purely about how many IRL days your character has existed (whilst active, obviously an inactive unpaid for account can't start raising a new skill when the current one finishes.). Since existence time is the real scarce commodity for ANY character, not ISK.
And there's not really any amount of effort that *CAN* set that straight. If you want to fly a dreadnaught or titan or w/e you'll quite simply need to have played a couple of years to have the skills needed for one.
Anyhow, just saying I liked that aspect somewhat less and that I found it a bit impersonal cuz you never see the characters, but at the same time I def have to admit that it is interesting too. You can have big battles between groups of spaceships, that's pretty cool. =p
(Though I think it is WRONG that anyone can pilot battleships on their own. The bigger ships should require 2 or 3 ppl on board to man it, but for balance between ship classes and for more fun/realism. But then again, thatd prolly conflict with the whole pod-thing.)
Oh, and if you're saying NPC pirates dont worry you anymore Im sure you havent tried fighting em in 0.0 space before. =P They warpjam and shit, hehe.
Oh btw, I do have to say that the vastness of space in EVE is pretty realistic, that is certainly commendable. The proportion of the size of a planet to the distance between 2 planets is realistic, though its silly that you can only warp to within 15km and everyone has to set bookmarks and stuff for fast travelling.
As for giving it another chance, I would but its such a drain on my time. Also at least half of the game is spent travelling and it's not like WoW or Morrowind where you have nice sights to see, not at all.
