Re: training monsters

I haven't played in a while, but I would suggest this order (not sure at what lvl or what items might help):

wolves
orcs
babies
blues
dires

I am pretty sure there is a better way (especially factoring in Spells and creature weaknesses), but this is what I plan on doing.  Please others that have more knowledge don't hesitate to correct me or improve upon this list.

Re: training monsters

What lvl are you?  If you are between lvl's 20 and 40 I would suggest maybe teaming up with a couple people of the same lvl and fight blue dragons, it's been working for me great.  If you don't already have Illusionary Menace, I would definitely suggest getting it.  It helps A LOT when trying to raise a low lvl char.  And if you can't find anyone to party with, go to the dire cave and just own all the wolves and spectres there.  That is definitely a good idea I think, plus wolves drop caps rapiers falcions and other good things for low lvl chars.  This is just my two cents.

Re: training monsters

Not sure how much the game has changed since I've been gone, but class will matter either way.

On my mage I mastered slimes at level 18 I believe, and was leveling on dire. The big orc spawn was still around, and I'd just keep getting coin there, buying pie and then going back to dire... Got level 100 quickly and a few ruins, and a decent amount of coin.

On a fighter, at level 16 try baby dragons, then hell serpants (if the spawns are still normal) - then blues.

Re: training monsters

The thing with baby dragons and serps is that unless the lvl 16 has good items i don't think they could take one on.  I could be wrong.  I'm not the best faldon player. lol

Re: training monsters

at lvl16 i would suggest Turkeys. then baby dragons at about lvl20~

Go to the big turkey spawn you can take on 2 or 3 at a time.

I'm opening up a shop that sells 13" rulers just so Fireborn stops complaining.

Re: training monsters

What type of character are you shooting for and how do you have your stats setup now?  That also makes a huge difference in what you lvl on.  If you are a mage with a lot of magic and moderate wiz/necro lvls, then you could lvl on babies easy at lvl 20.  If you are pure warrior then you might not go straigt to baby dragons at lvl 20.  I really does depend on your goal of character type.

Re: training monsters

Go level on Lavas. They're easy to kill and give around 700exp each. At least i think they do. Also they spawn quite quickly and after a while you could even think up a route to take etc each time to find them.  :? You could even just stop playing faldon altogether  and save yourself alot of time  tongue
