Re: Classic Faldon

The game used to be a lot more enjoyable... with lots more people playing... now that it is slow and less creatures everywhere... the games population has decreased miserably

Re: Classic Faldon

Okay to bump this topic and also help support my cause... Faldon had a ton more users on when the game wasn't so slow paced... you could roam around the town quickly without wasting stamina... the buttons to access your skills and magic and all that were a lot more user friendlier... fighting was a lot more stable then it is now... (I roamed the new version for about 20 minutes and only saw like 15 rats/wolfs)... overall the new game version just completely made the game a waste for new people (and old school people like me) to come back or to begin too... I hope that everyone reads this and makes a decision about this... the link I sent earlier shows when the game used to be at it's BEST and not like Diablo 2's slow walking crap... so please Zer and everyone else who is developing please consider this... i'm sure it would bring you a LOT more business and lots more new people... hell if you do bring it back to normal... the game would expand... i'd even get my friends playing but right now the game makes them fall asleep terribly...

Re: Classic Faldon

Bardok, the game is already "normal." If you are suggesting that the old clients be brought back, it is not going to happen. Your complaints actually don't even mean much. I mean, you talk about the fact that it is "slow paced." But really, this has very little to do with the client and server. It has a lot more to do with map and quest design. Also, are you suggesting that everyone run super fast and not have to worry about being tired? Perhaps you should orgainze your complaints, find solutions to the complaints, then bring your suggestions to the forum. Complaining about things in such a vague manner really doesn't help anything.

Re: Classic Faldon

This Faldon 2.0 client everyone misses so much, is crap imo...  the first desert client was, and always will be the best, of course IMO.  The only fun part of the 2nd client was the rush to be the best after the wipe =P  but then of course it started sucking after that rush was over...

Re: Classic Faldon

I never played "Faldon 2.0." But, I did play Faldon during the first desert map. It was pretty much the same as it is today, really. The guilds were a little more united, the players a little more friendly, but the basic game is the same.

Re: Classic Faldon

The first desert map was my favorite because of the players, not because of anything specific about the map or monsters or whatnot.

Re: Classic Faldon

It's funny that everyone is stating the desert part of faldon was the greatest... seems like a great hint towards what should happen... more players if it would come true... but I doubt it will happen

Re: Classic Faldon

There is a desert map on the current client, but its just as crappy as the other maps.

Dont look down here, my message is up there.

Yep indeed. Just another shitty map released without anything on it.

Re: Classic Faldon

I must agree, tho I havent played on the old server a faster paced game would be nice. Even if intermittently. Also im trying to understand why maps are released with no minimaps attached...

Re: Classic Faldon

The problem with the minimaps is that in order to update them, they have to be put on the patcher, and to be put on the patcher, we would need to convince Zer to do it.  Thus why it doesn't happen.  If you want a new minimap, download my Faldon Utilities package (see link to my website in my signature).  There is a minimap maker in there... somewhere, I think it's attached to the screenshot viewer, but I may be mistaken.  Anyhow, that'll update the minimaps for you.  But, be aware, any minimaps that HAVE been uploaded to the patcher (such as the main map and map 5) will be overwritten, so after doing a new minimap, you need to use a patch bypasser (which is also in the Faldon Utilities package).

Re: Classic Faldon

I think a lot of what chased new player away from Faldon were PvP rules and the power curve. I'm not sure if things still work this way but it looks like the power curve problem has gotten a little worse.
