Topic: Game Moderation FAQ
What is a Moderator [M] ?
Moderators help out in the game by a number of ways, by monitoring the chat and fair play around the game. They are not players, so don't try to kill/steal/trade with them.
What is a Gamemaster [GM]?
Gamemasters help out by building the game. They are usually busy, so make sure your question is important if you are going to contact one.
Do Player Moderators have to help me?
Moderators are there to help monitor fair play in the game. It is up to the individual Player Moderator whether they offer in-game assistance and they are under no obligation to do this.
How does someone become a Moderator [M]?
We keep track of potential Moderators through a variety of methods.
We review their behavior in the forums, the number and quality of abuse reports sent in, how useful and friendly they have been to other players and any messages sent in to us from other players about their behavior in the game.
The chances of a particular player becoming a Moderator [M] is not based on their level of their character or how long they have played, but on the maturity and behavior of all their characters in the game.
This means that while you will not see a new player given Moderator status, you may see some that haven't played for more then a year. We do investigate accounts fully before giving them Moderator status, so if you see [M] in chat, the player will have earned it.
If you have a previous punishment this does not necessarily end your chances of becoming a Moderator, if you have learnt from your mistakes and have made a positive impact on the game, it can result in the player being considered for the role of Moderator.
We do not give out details on how close someone is getting to becoming a Moderator but if you are doing what is needed to become a Moderator then we will take notice.
We DO NOT consider requests to become Moderators, DO NOT send any in.
If I see another player cheating, or I like to report a hack/bug, what should I do?
Report it to a GM or a M either by mailing them or chatting to them online.
How to approach a GM or M.
If you have a question to ask, make sure its a important one, try not to do a common question that any player would know). Make sure you talk nice and clear. If they don't reply, don't spam or keep asking. Because they may have there chat turned off. If you still get no reply then you can mail them instead. They can get really busy, and unable to talk back.
A player scammed me, is there anything a GM or M can do?
No we cannot help. Do not share characters or items.
I was muted, why?
If you have been muted then you didn't follow the terms of service. Make sure you read it. Depending on the nature, if its minor then its 15min mute. Otherwise its a long account mute.
I was jailed, why?
If you have been jailed then you didn't follow the terms of service. Each time your jailed your jail time will increase.
How do I increase my chances in becoming a M?
Following the terms of service and setting a positive example for others either on the game or message board. Play fair (no cheating and the such) and just be a generally friendly person that can help out with player questions. Doing leadership roles, helping the new people when stuck, help too.
More Q's and A's will come latter, reply if you have a common queston that should be added.
