Topic: Just out of curiosity...
Have there been any developments over the last few years? I'd personally like to see a full wipe so we call all start off fresh, but that's just me. Something is telling me there haven't been any, considering players are reaching levels beyond 800. I think this game would do well with equality for a change... might even see some old faces come back?
Just a thought. Heh... I may get flamed for this, but what should I expect? I'm sure the means of attaining the items that you (the people who've somehow done so well over the years) have been using were 100% legitimate, so why SHOULD you be punished? I suppose this is the reason that the wipe has never happened, and Faldon remains dead and buried. Until some changes are made which don't just benefit the "in" crowd, it will remain that way.
It's time to pay less attention to macroers and spammers, and start worrying about the equality of the population and the fairness that is being represented. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone cheating one bit, but macro/spammers are the least of your worries if you're concerned about cheating. What should you expect? I noticed the FAQ section, regarding what it takes to be a moderator. One of the tips says something along the lines of leading by example. This game is run by people (and I'm not talking about the GMs or Ms) who've benefited from hacked/duped items in the past, and it shouldn't stay that way.
But all in all this is just an opinion, and I don't expect to see it escalate from what it is. How this game is going to see any positive changes in regards to playability and fairness is beyond me.
I'd like to hear your thoughts, because I think it's a little pointless trying to flush out the cheaters when the game has already been screwed by them...
