Topic: Moving the server

The game server's been moved to the new machine. Instead of Windows XP, it's now running Ubuntu Linux.

Enhancements that come along with this move include the ability to rename characters (in what manner we'll make this available to you remains to be seen), no expiration on mail, a real-time ladder, web-accessible Who's Online, web-based account management (which will go live in the next few days), as well as numerous bug fixes.

If you are using the Alternate Port, you may not be able to log in presently. Tomorrow's update will fix that.

Just got the patcher files moved, and illusorystudios.com redirected. Might take some time for DNS changes to come through.

New site still doesn't work right in IE7. Don't worry, I'll fix that in the next day or two. Works great in Firefox and IE8...

Going to start on the actual server data now.

Yeah, I'll look at those once things are running.
The website account login will be disabled until I get those dealt with, for obvious reasons.
It's presently transferring accounts. After that will be characters, and then I find out if it imported the market right.
Still some time yet (at the current rate > 1 hr).

nice, so whats going to Be NEW, with server change other then the Server the game is runnin off of? just faster/slower game speed i guess?

The import has finished and seems to have worked ok. Unlike the last test server, the market imported. Properly or not remains to be seen.

I am now uploading the server files. My connection is uploading at 50KB/s and it's ~100MB, so that'll give you a rough idea of a minimum ETA (there'll be a bit of setup as well).
