People did read what you said and simply disagreed.  If you're going to post a topic that brings about an open discussion in a forum, you should accept that the posters involved are not going to agree with you every time.  Given this fact, it doesn't really help your case when you resort to inarticulate name calling and profanity just for the sake of profanity.

Most modern games have some form of chat moderation.  Given the fact that there is a limited amount of resources available(i.e. Moderators) to do this in this game, adding a built in chat filter to the broadcast channel accomplishes this task.  Does it go too far?  Maybe.  However, in situations like this, sometimes overkill is better than under moderation of chat since it adds to the professionalism of the game.  Little things like this add up when a new player comes into a new MMO.  The market is flooded right now and if someone gets turned off by a game in the first hour, there's a myriad of other free-to-play games available for them to play.  This means things that a developer could let slide in the past have to be looked at now if they want to maintain a player base.

When looking at the chat filter, it all comes down to two simple questions...

Has a profanity filter ever turned a potential customer off from a product?  Probably not very often.

Has rampant use of profanity and racism turn a potential customer off from a product?  Given the fact that there's been complaints about it in this game for years, I would venture to say yes.
