Topic: Help!

So I had Windows 7 and it started to annoy me that my computer started to run slow, so i figured id install XP again..

That backfired bad.
As I was installing my computer it 'crashed' and didnt want to reset. It got stuck hanging at the motherboard screen and ya...
Seems I have to find a driver and install it(cant find it anywhere without having to pay). but ya im a noob when it comes to this
I got a Maxtor 6Y080M0 80GB
If anyone can give me any help that would be appreciated.. and maybe rewarded.

Thanks!

You can't start the install over again?

Make sure in your BIOS that your CDROM is first in the boot order.
Also if  you have any 'boot sector protection' (ChipAway AntiVirus etc) to turn that off during install as otherwise it won't be able to put a boot loader in when it finishes installing. You ought not to need a special driver for an IDE/ATA HD..

What do you mean by the motherboard screen exactly?

I got the CD for W7 and Wxp.. it tells me that it can not find a Hard Disc and tells me to stop the Setup.

The Hard Disc is completly empty so there is nothing that could 'stop' the installing process.

I got an ASUS motherboard and when I start up my computer its the first thing I see.. some kind of ASUS screen. (This shows the option to press Del to go to the BIOS)

----EDIT---- I meant the boot menu right there tongue

It doesn't wanne start up the BIOS either.

-------Edit------

Juza helped me out a little bit. I'm going to try a different HD and see if the computer detects that HD. I'll let ya know.

I get where you went with that witty reply, but you should say that when I have a working computer.
