Oh, and this is hardly like an independent film that's made it though
Well another point is getting our foot in the door in the first place. Being featured in a Hong Kong gaming magazine's demo CD, or a Brazilian game site wasn't our doing. They just stumbled upon it somehow or another, it was a fluke.
It is true that Faldon cannot compete with cutting edge graphic games, if that's what the player is looking for. The gaming market is enormous, and indeed places like Brazil or other developing/newly developed countries are prime places.
A GUI overhaul along with newbie tutorials would go a long way.
Honestly, this game has the basic tool set to be a wonderful experience.
Couldn't agree more. The current state of the game is pretty bad and its not too hard to imagine making a new one with new data (items, monsters, stats, magic, maps, etc)
i agree

Yeah, too bad the game can never maintain the level of development love that it deserves. I wonder where things would be now if Zer had opened the project up to other developers 5 or so years ago.
From my understanding, one of the fears about going open source with this game was that once you do, you end up with several servers and an already small community will split up even more. I could be way off base here, but I believe this was a reason given by Zer regarding opening up the source or releasing the server software. From a personal perspective as a former musician, I can also imagine that this game would be Zer's baby. Whether it be painting, music, or film making, most artists don't want to have others interfering with their vision.
One of the most appealing things about this game and a reason while I always come back and check on it even after ten years is the fact that I find it incredible that one person can create something like this independently as well as support it for free for this length of time. It's the equivalent to finding a brilliant independently made movie that the director is giving out for free. In this regard, I respect greatly what Zer has done here as I imagine you do as well, since we both continue to follow the game long after we stopped grinding on Wyrms.
Yeah, I completely agree with you here. I wasn't saying that Zer SHOULD have open sourced it or anything, was just wondering how things would have turned out if maybe Crovax or someone took over once Zer went off to college. It's definitely his "baby", though, I mean he started working on it when he was how old? 10 or 11?

^ SHUTUP
Faldon: If you like Wow you Blow.
Faldon, home of the best soldier's alive.
Obama: We need change.
Faldon; You dad is br.
Perhaps I'll start making a fancy thing to promote it, we'll see. I rather enjoy the banner Wu made. Just sayin.
Well.. as a favor to the Faldon community - Off and on over the months I always re-submit the Faldon site to various gaming sites - and its up to those sites to do the official review and promote the game.
I can admit, I really don't play - only because the current client made me rather dis-interested compared to the old desert, church, and pre-church, and alpha playability.
But - I've always had a pair of thumbs straight up for the game - I am just looking for the right reason to play again, and I can guarantee sooner or later the site will be picked up be some more major organizations and more people will join
Whos loki?? hes from washington?? so am i
Loki has been around basically since the beginning of Faldon.
Also, Washington has always had an abnormally high number of Faldon players. Not sure why.
Oh. Well didnt you live in washington? Its prolly because its cold/rainy most of the time so we go inside and find somethin better to do
Why do that if we can barley do anything in the game such as speak
