Topic: Something that should change.

Okay so I've been reading through some different posts, and thus far I have found that Faldon is full of these following problems:

  • People COMPLAINING about lost items.

  • People COMPLAINING about how horrible Faldon is.

  • People COMPARING Faldon to games that have MILLONS of dollars of funding.

  • People that COMPLAIN that they just gave all their items away because they're gonna quit...BUT DON'T.

  • People COMPLAINING about what another person did to their character.

  • People getting their account "STOLEN"(which we all know you gave them you're info.).

So as you can see, there is WAY TOO MUCH COMPLAINING. The way I see it is that if you don't like the way the game is operating you have 2 options:

  • Stop playing / take a break until you see what you want come true "if it's a dumb sugestion good luck.".

  • Give suggestions and answers to the various problems that Faldon comes across, GM's need POSITIVE input from the players. Don't sit there and go "NONE OF THESE GMS EVER LISTEN TO ME LIKE O.M.G F&%K THEY'RE DUMB" that's going to get your opinion absolutely NO WHERE.

Also disrespecting players in Faldon has gotten more I guess you could call it "Common". To be completely honest every other time I log on Faldon their is someone saying that Faldon needs more players. Well if their going to start playing and all you are going to do is harass them, then guess what they're not going to stay.

Some people that are currently playing Faldon just aren't open for change I don't think. It seems like they have a love/hate relationship with the current server, and all of the people that play. You have to be completely open minded if you want something to excel. You have to be open for change, you have to be able to get along with people of different origins, races etc. It's how the world works. If you can't get along with people that are different from yourself you need to learn.

So to sum up everything in this topic.

  • People need to STOP COMPLAINING about Faldon, and need to start contributing to it instead.

  • People need to be OPEN MINDED and OPEN FOR CHANGE

  • People need to get used to people that are different, whether it be what language they speak, what color their skin is or even where in the world they're from. GET USED TO IT.

  • People need to STOP HARASSING FELLOW PLAYERS.

  • People need to make an account and keep it for themselves, if you decided to share it and something happens to it then don't come to the forums and spam. YOU GAVE THE INFORMATION OUT, therefore it is YOUR FAULT for anything that is said, and or done on YOUR ACCOUNT.

If more COMPLAINING comes up about character sharing being a problem then maybe a rule should be made stating that you're not allowed to share? Perhaps that would help a little bit.

TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS THIS POST WAS NOT DIRECTED TO ANY ONE PERSON. IT IS ONLY THE OPINION OF MYSELF THAT I GATHERED AFTER READING VARIOUS POSTS. THANKS. smile

i tried to the whole positive attitude with faldon, the response youll get from a GM is LOL NOT THIS CLIENT K THX I IGNORE FURTHER QUESTIONS/COMMENTS

It depends what the attitude is towards. GMS don't appreciate being ragged on all day long, which makes sense I mean who likes to be bother EVERYDAY. Also you can't just show positive attitude once, you need to keep a positive attitude. It also depends what your suggestion was towards, because yes it is true they can't change some things on current server, but they're working on the new server so new suggestions and such can be posted on the forum. Just try to keep it positive, it will get you a lot further. smile

They only problem with Faldon that I have is the fact that they don't show constant progress of the new client. Is there any progress being made at all? We wouldn't know. A simple screenshot would suffice. But we don't get that. Maybe so many people wouldn't complain if we actually knew what was going on. Everyones just trying to be a part of Faldon's progression, but instead we just get screened out.

rp, just because you give suggestions in a positive manner doesn't mean the suggestions are good.  And when the suggestions are good, there's also a fair chance that they are not feasible to implement.  I seriously doubt that they are just brushing off good ideas for no reason, though.

they dont want to hear the good ideas, because they dont give a fuck about them, as long as they get the 10-15 dollars a day in resets and the occasional C they are more then happy. it may not sound like much, but when you do that math over the course of time the game has been around, its made about 40 grand. tell me im wrong and your a moron.

Even if it is, indeed, true that Zer has somehow made $40,000 over the course of the ten years since he started optionally charging money for various game features, it ends up averaging out to about $4000 a year.  This is minus expenses such as building new servers in recent years, paying for other providers to host the servers in the past, Paypal's cut of the fees and the time spent maintaining the game - even the smallest of changes can take hours. 

Now, bear in mind that Zer has (i believe) an engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon University, which is one of the most prestigious technical colleges in the country.  Given the value of a degree like in the job field, one can surmise that he could potentially make more than that in weeks in just about any career he might have chosen.  Any profits that he possibly makes - which I would wager is less than you assume considering the 20-30 active players currently in the game - comes at the cost of having to spend his free time dealing with Faldon. 

To me, it appears that this game has and always will be more of a labor of love than any sort of money making device. 

As far as listening to the player base, I believe that Zer and all the GMs do listen to feedback.  I know that I've had discussions with Zer in the test realm and have given him feedback.  GMs have also taken many player suggestions and put them to use.  They added and re-added the repair NPC upon player request.  They have added more and different spawns upon player requests.  They revamped housing and added the roommate feature due to player requests.   Heck, I suggested cockroaches during the last desert map and Coma made them for this client.  As Mumblee already said, sometimes, player suggestions, while made with good intentions, aren't really the best thing for the game at the moment, don't fit in the with overall vision, or are technically impossible at the moment.

i didnt say it was like his prime income, i dont care what degree he has, or what potential he has to make more money, the fact of the matter, it didnt cost him a thing, and hes making more then hes putting out, over many years, it is thousands he has put in his pocket, and i contributed to that for the past 10 years but no more, nothing ever gets done for me, only things that happen get me fucked over , triedp utting time into new characters but that always got ruined, try to get my main character fixed, nobody wants to do that either, fucking joke.

hence why im not playing anymore wu, you stupid cunt, i know you wont give it back, but if it was futi or someone, it would be back already by now, anyway, all i said is i wont pay anymore, and i wont play anymore, and if you guys dont start caring your 10 players is guna drop to 5, then none, maybe 2-3 like it was for a year a while back, lmfao enjoy fag.

i actually think the player popularity would rise if you were gone.
you probably made more people quit by scamming them, then gm's did by not giving out freebies
