Topic: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Hello GM's... Please consider to do fixes on the current client. As I see it, and I know there are several people that share this thought. The player base is descending and will continue to drop untill it finally dies. I know this has been said before but it is around the corner. If there is no current client, there will be no good base for the new client. I think you should support the loyal players, aswell as the new players. Especially the new players, they get no fair chance to get rich, except for camping months and months to get a couple items. The Brazillians have no chance either, they are lucky they get helped by other brazillians with pets.. But that is about all they can do. These Brazillians been playing for 2 years now, and I still have to see one of them exceed an average rich regular. So please, Mister GameMaster. CONSIDER HELPING THE CURRENT VERSION.

PLEASE, BEFORE READING... DO NOT THINK AS AN INDIVIDUALIST AND BE LIKE:OMG NO MY PRECIOUS ITEMS.. THINK ABOUT WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE GAME, AND NOT JUST FOR YOU.. IF THERE IS NO GAME, THERE IS NO YOU IN THE GAME

If you got any other ideas than the ones below, please share them and i will add them in this post. Please make sure that these ideas are good for the game and not for yourself, no selfish motives, please.

This is a shout out for Faldon's Economy. It has been bad for a long time and there are several reasons for this.
Us players can not fix an economy without a little help from the GMs, yet what we can do, is give ideas. So this is my share on this.

The following is a complete idea and not seperate ones. As one fix will not help the economy, several will.

Though, they can be done seperatly, except Removing Tinker.. If that would be done, other good solutions has to be involved, as I have summed up some below.

Remove Tinker

At the moment there are too many items and too less gold in the game. This could be easily solved ofcourse if people stop thinking individualistic, but this wont happen, sadly. Making it so that items will get destroyed over time, items will get a solid value, aswell as people are willing to buy better items to level or PK in. The prices will decrease ofcourse and items will be hard to get for the lower class in Faldon, except when:

Increase drop rates and GP drops
If drop rates would be increased, items will be slighty easier to get. By this I am talking about the medium rare items and usefull items to level or PK in. For example: Artic Blade, Holy Cape,Artic Ringmail etc etc.
By increasing the drop ratings, the lower and medium class will be able to get the items they need, aswell as they can sell it to other people that would need this. This would give us the option to either take the time to camp, or to buy them with Gold. It is fairly idiotic that you have to camp for days and weeks to get just one item you would like to have. Only to try and sell it underpriced and be left with GP you can do almost nothing with.

The rare items, like soul robe, knight plate, war bow, bol .. should stay as they are, as every game needs ultra rare items.

Gold drops should increase too. In order to fix the economy , there will have to be more gold. And fairly easy to get for everyone. This will make it so that people can buy items they need to level or PK. The current gold system is not good, as you would get 5 gold pieces for killing a blue dragon. At the moment you would have to kill about 100 THOUSAND blue dragons to be able to afford an Artic Blade.. 50 THOUSAND blue dragons to be able to afford a mourning star.
This ofcourse is outrageous, though there are other ways to get gold and the items.

This system was excellent 7 years ago.. But time has passed, and a change is needed.

Blacksmithing/Goldsmithing

All the above will actually make these 2 skills usefull again. People would repair their items to keep them longer. Though the current system needs an improvement. If you have a 40/80 dura item and repair it, no matter what BS skill you got.. it will repair to 60/60.. This is not a big problem, but at higher BS skill you should be able to repair more efficient. This would make the loss of Tinker way more acceptable, aswell it would make these otherwise useless skills , usefull.

Dura Increase

This is debatable, but items could use a dura increase so they would last longer. By doing this items will keep a certain value.

Delete Blackjack and Slot Machines(or fix them so they are fair=p)
The casino was brought in to take out the duped gold, obviously.
That gold is not around anymore, as this scamming practice should be deleted or fixxed.. Smaller bets or a maximum of bets you can make a faldon/real day.
This would help people that can't stop aswell.

Indes Items
Debatable.
Though there should be a solution where everyone is happy with. (The individualists will hate this idea no matter what..I know..)

Increasing the dura on them, making them drop (Mrobe,SB).. Events where they can be given out.. Or what Mister Rob said, Quest Master should be able to make items Indes for an insane amount of Quest Points.

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

These are some good ideas. The faldon economy is now completely stale with far more people selling items than buying items. As well fixing a stale economy and making it a fluid one for all of faldon including new players which faldon now needs would be an excellent idea it would also give the blacksmith skill a useful purpose.

There is only one more issue, indestructible items. May I also suggest these are changed to extremely high dura because under this system they would be made to be extremely valuable? We could expect to see skull blade for example jump to 4-5million gold overnight.

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Indes items are debatable indeed. Though if they would be made with dura, they should be able to be dropped, or obtainable by events that are held by a more regular base than at Easter/Halloween/Christmas.

Not to forget Master Robe,Soul Blade etc.

This is a good idea.

There should be an option for Indes though. What about the Quest Master.. For an insane amount of Quest Points that will surely only can be done once on a high level char. On an item that you can choose.

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

This shithead is destroying the game, Without Tinker every1 would camp and train bsmith all the time noon would bother pk or lvl cuz their afraid of losing dura and shit and at the end every1 gets tired of Camping and training and they will at the end quit Gm's Please dont be stupid enough to destroy the game.

7

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Lol, isnt the point of Faldon to train your skills and gather items? As I see it, the game is already "destroyed".

8

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

All the people will try to buy items and noone will sell, the only thing that would change is that PEOPLE BUY AND DONT SELL

9

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

The game isnt destroyed yet but if u continue with this stupid suggestions the game will be destroyed.

10

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

The point with the game is to gather items, train skills, BUT ALSO TO PK AND LVL.

11

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Making it able for lower and medium class players to get GP faster and Items faster, would make them better. People will even PK and Level more because of this. Except the ignorant ones that can not level without % Gear.

Though, I do understand your statement.

There should be new monsters with better EXP, in order to be able to catch up with the people that have Packet Edited their way to their level.

Look at Barbie Girl, on the other hand. She never used % gear.

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Excatly it gets easier for noobs to get rich, but what about thoose people that paid usd or worked really hard to get rich ? big_smile

13

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

No one forced them to do so. And if you are familair with faldon.. It changes all the time.

14

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

I agree something need to be changed but removing tinker wont help it

15

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Removing tinker is the worst idea.  Removing tinker is what caused faldon to die originally.  Before tinker was removed there were 120+ players playing at all times, now we arelucky to have 40 on at thesame time.  If the gms remove tinker, you will see this game crumble.

16

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Newbs can easily make gp.  I employed half of the game at one time.

17

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Removing Tinker alone is what happened back then.
With solid solutions it would be a great solution to the fucked up economy.

And I figured people would not like the removing tinker idea. But please, stop having selfish motives.

18

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

And tinker, does not have to be removed.

Its an idea, though other solutions can be thought off.. Which is the original idea of this thread. Give us more ideas to fix the economy.

You can't deny the economy is fucked. Maybe you can because you are on the top of it.. But its not good for the game.

Finally he wrote something smart

20

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Thats what ive been trying to say , removing tinker wont help but something need to be done tongue

21

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Still waiting for the day you say something significant.

22

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

I remember the time I removed Tinker and people went absolutely batshit crazy.  The funny part is, Tinker should have never existed to begin with - Zer's grand economic strategy for the current client was to increase drop rates from what they used to be considerably but to also increase item decay so that the items would cycle out.

I like how Chris10's first argument against removing Tinker is exactly the reason it should be done.  It would help to make crafting skills worthwhile.

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Blacksmithing does repair at better rates than 50% when you have high blacksmithing, however, the only player to have achieved such high smithing is Cazit as the standard blacksmithing skill maxes around 90-ish.

I agree that Tinker (or atleast his full repairs) should be removed, items are not meant to last forever. I think that with easier ways to get gold and higher drop rates on items people wont mind breaking an AB if during the lifetime of that AB they can use it to make enough money to buy two more.

I do not like indestructible items though, there can be very high dura items (say, 1000, assuming full repairs dont exist) but I don't think any item should last forever.

However, Faldon is too far along with almost a decade of shit piled up on top of other shit that it would be impossible to really fix anything at this point. All we can hope for is that the mistakes from the current version are NOT made in the next version.

Though I agree to to that it should be corrected in new version, it also should be in this one. How long will it take till we can even play the new version?

It is going to take a long while till we can, and the current situation is that the economy is fucked now. So instead of just letting it go, do something about it, so you have a solid base for a new client.

Re: Faldon's Economy ** ANY GM PLEASE **

Lol What about the people that paid Damn much to get a ab with cheap repairs ?
