Topic: Game on Kickstarter that seems interesting: Chronicles of Elyria
All,
I am a longtime player of Faldon. I have been playing on and off for 15+ years. Some of my fondest memories from my early teenage years are of time spent on Desert map.
It is no secret that Faldon has been withering for quote some time. For a long while I have been in search of a game that scratches the itch that Faldon did so many years ago.
So far none have.
That being said, I have recently stumbled across a game on kickstarter that has peaked my interest. I don't normally pay much attention to pre-release games, especially MMO's, but this one has caught my eye.
So much of what made Faldon special was the community ties that bound us together(and sometimes ripped us apart! ). Low level players would negotiate with higher level players fulfilling orders for materials that higher level players would use in conjunction with mastered skills to fuel a dynamic and player driven economy. Alliances/Wars between players and guilds served as the foundation for a complex society of players of all sorts.
The community drove the game, was the game...
While the engine and play mechanics are much different in Chronicles of Elyria, I believe this game idea is one that will embody much of the spirit that made Faldon so great. I have funded this project and am anxious to see its progress and hopeful for the finished product.
If there are any others on here who are on a similar search as myself, please consider checking out Chronicles for Elyria. Link below:
