Topic: Reduce int requirement to learn higher level books

I am not sure what the formulae is, but the int requirements for reading books above 10 is too high. Level 15 books require over 3000 int which is not achievable.

Could a more realistic max int requirement be set for higher level books? The Christmas event hands out various higher level books so it would be nice if players could actually read them.

*Bump* Plz

I think a good guideline would be to have level 20 spells require 2500 int, then work back from there.

Re: Reduce int requirement to learn higher level books

It occurred to me there might be a better solution that gets 2 birds stoned at the same time, Making a gold sink and keeping some of the hardest to find spells in the game a challenge to read. If the below suggested rates are followed it allows allows lower level chars to read books like holy armor or illusionary menace to 10 so they can level without having to waste points on INT.

Currently you can upgrade some spells with midas using egold, this functionality exists without needing to have the book.

What if Midas also allowed you to upgrade with regular gold *IF* you have the book in your inventory, effectively circumventing the INT requirement for reading books if you're willing to pay some kind of gold fee and midas eats the book for the corresponding level in your inventory.

Suggested Rate
* have the book, not the int *

Spell level 7-10 (Less is not necessary because int requirement is low for levels 1-6)
1k Gold Per Level + Book with Corresponding level

Spell Level 11-14 (Max achievable with current INT Restrictions)
10k Gold per level

15+ (Currently not achievable with current INT Requirements)
250k Per Level + 10 EGold + Book with Corresponding level

Out of retirement... for now.

Re: Reduce int requirement to learn higher level books

I am pretty sure its one of those exponential curve things. Only a factor that comes in place now, due to the... lack of of... well anyway, it was not thought of an issue 20 years ago, and maybe, or maybe not, a good way to police mortals from getting cheat spell drops?

What I want to know is, what spell is available at level 15? This is new, I am fine with it, but what, who, where? Less of who, but this is new content.

Sorry for stepping away for over a month.
