Looks quite impressive and informative, i read the website, it looks like the film is based around similar theories to what Noam Chomsky has, very closely related to Neo-marxism.
I'll check it out if i ever get the money
Noam Chomsky is awesome as well. I just finished watching his documentary "Manufacturing Consent". A bit boring but also very very good.
goth i also suggest noam chomsky's "distorted morality" dvd.....it's exellent as well
That looks great. Thanks for posting, Gothic.

Yes, well it's a bit out dated now but i recently watched and was fascinated by his ideas. Although i must admit the part about linguistics went right over my head.
I had covered similar ideas when i studied both classical marxism and neo-marxism but i fealt Noam Chomsky filled in the gaps for both of these theories with his documentary called manufactoring consent.
I also looked Noam up on the internet and found masses of information on many of his ideas and theories. I haven't found anything i disagree with.
He has interesting ideas on anarchism, the war on Iraq, bush etc.
I'll be sure to check out "distorted morality" also Pennywise, sounds interesting.

Haha me too, I think I pretty much spaced out over that part as I couldn't really understand it. The part that interested me most was when he was discussing East Timor. I never even realised how big of a tragedy that was.
It's amazing how the mass media failed to report so much information about what was happening in Indanesia. I watched a documentary (unfortunately the name of it escapes me) about how the West interfered with that country in order to make it part of their Global economy. Basically they wanted the Indonesian people for cheap labour. So they fueled a rebellion against those in power at the time with arms and intelligence. The rebellion was successful and Indonesia's leader was overthrown. He wanted to keep western corperations out of his country due to the catastrophic effects it would have on the economy.
Ofcourse the west took no chances, they ensured that the rebels would join the global market and allow their corperations to act as they wanted before providing them with what they needed to bring the Indanesian leader out of power.
Whats more, once the rebels were in power they took it upon themselves to murder all people on a list supposedly provided by the CIA. It was a list of names of all people that may try and resist or rebel against the new power in Indanesia and all those intelligent enough to realise and resist the new globalised Indanesia would soon fall into economic deprivation.
Some people on this list realised they were marked men/women and tried to escape the country by boat. Allegedly British naval forces literally blew them out of the water by request of the rebels who had recently gained power.
Ofcourse none of this was reported upon to any detail at all at the time. Fighting had been mentioned on the news, and a change in power. However the fact that the west had been involved seemed to escape the mass medias attention.
Before any of this Indanesia had been described by the Guardian (a British broadsheet newspaper) as an economic gem of the world, wealth was distrubuted fairly evenly (a rare thing.) These days Indanesia is supposedly a richer country (joy) however the rich people are the ruling class, the majority of the population are now working in factories in bad conditions (so much so that it isn't actually legal in any country) for companies such GAP and also nike (<i think) being paid extremely poor wages. Housing is now poor, as are medical supplies etc.
VOTE FOR NADER
Speaking of Nader, here in Ohio his name was on the ballots, but it was scribbled out with marker. Was kind of amusing, shows how last minute the machinations to do that were..
Nader was a slacker this election. All the work he did last election to get him media publicity and supporters is ruined and its pretty much because of himself. He won't make a change this election, unfortunately. The Libertarians however stand a good chance of actually pulling 4%-5%
Yeah, I voted Libertarian. They had all candidates other than the major two listed as 'other party' instead of telling you their party name though. Clearly whoever printed the ballots wanted to avoid third party votes
Woah. Do my eyes decieve me? *wipes eyes* A post from Zer?
If you do use MSN, would you mind adding me at gbrooks2@hotmail.com? I've got a question that can't be discussed on the forums.
Blah! Republicans only! Vote Bush!
libertarian party seems to have alot of good ideas....but on many issues, i fail to see any plans as to how to achieve them....

I love you Zer. GO LIBERTARIANS!
Penny, maybe I can help clear it up a bit or find out where the information you want is. I haven't found any problems with the Libertarians having a lack of a plan, but maybe you are seeing things I am not? I'd still like to know what you see though.
let's use the whole "war on terrorism" thing being as how that's the new hot topic in america.....i was curious and i like to be educated on all the parties platforms so a month or two ago i go to their site....
so i click on the war on terrorism plan link and the most recent article i could find was a statement made after september 11th 2001.....i didn't give up there, i figured there has to ideas and plans as to how to handle more relevent issues such as iraq....i couldn't find any short of their ideas that we shouldn't start fights with the rest of the world because it just escalates thing and so on and so forth .....which, bear in mind, i agree with....BUT i couldn't find any plans as to how to handle the current situation.....
don't get me wrong, the libertarian party has the right ideas on many issues, but they, at least as far as their website goes, didn't seem to have any plans for getting the job done.....
You are right about the "War on Terror" thing. They do not have a solid platform for that, but they do have one for the War in Iraq. Also did you visit the LP website or Badnarik's? Badnarik's website goes more in depth with his plans and views on issues.
