"COOL" things out there.
It is cool because it is free.
I wont spotlight anything that is not free.
The Point to this Peasant Guild is based on the
premise that the game is more enjoyable f people
work together. Didn't is suck just a little when you
started playing and no one would answer the simple
questions that you asked?
Wasn't it frustrating when you were suckered out of
or into something?
Didn't it just bite when people would steal your kills?
Was it fun wasting hours trying to find the NPC that
you needed to give or get something from?
Just like in the game, you come in here and bash
people instead of offering your vast experience to
assist them.
That is the point of the Peasant Guild.
To be that helping hand, the kind voice, the face of reason,
the gift of items unearned.
Stand with me to help the newbies who enter our midst.
Just play and be cool to each other.
And if paying to play is cool, go get a City of Heroes card.
I think it's cool that you want to help people who are new to the game. However, you're no revolutionary. There have been a number of people dedicated to helping others on Faldon, thankfully, and those people deserve appreciation, as will you if you follow through with this. That's all good. I, however, don't think it's "cool" to not pay for things that should be paid for. Reciprocity is important in virtually all areas of life. You are gaining pleasure from the work of someone else, and, for that, you owe them something. Whether you can "get away with it" or not isn't the point. It comes down to ethics.
That crap about not conforming and being a rebel is just silly, and frankly makes you sound about 20 years younger than you claim to be.
Though I probably seem like a total ass to you at this point, I want to restate that if you really do end up helping newbs, then you should be respected. And I thank you in advance.

My friend Mark who runs thefreesite.com and I feel
it is a great thing to offer products and services for free.
It is also a great marketing tool to offer a free product
or service to introduce people to your work. If a person
likes your work and is comfortable with you, they will
be more likely to spend money with you.
My entire point again,
It sucks that Citizens in the game not only rarely offer
help to Peasants, but they seem to go out of their way
to jack with people. I play this game with my kid and
we both have been jacked with by Citizens. The
rebellion is against the prospect that they are somehow
better than us just because they have paid for Citizenship.
My kid almost stopped playing because Citizens were stealing
his kills every time he played. I reminded him that he should
love them with the love of Christ and just play fair to show
them how it is done. Be an example.
First of all, in my experience, it is the Ps that steal kills. The Cs often get
C because they need it at their point in skill. Which means they can
normally kill a monster or two in their spare time. I notice a lot of Ps
however about level 5 hanging out in the dcave waiting for a bdrag to
almost be dead...
If you like the game, you SHOULD pay. The idea of it being free is so that
you are NOT ripped off. So that you can see if you even like it before
dishing out money. The fact that you are PROMOTING people not to pay,
in my opinion, is just pathetic. This game is not free to run. This server is
not sitting in his house on a shared connection. They bought a server for
all of you players and they spent time making the game. And you know
what, they never charged anything for players to play. But it was on a
horrible server, it would go down all the time. So they stepped it up, they
bought a server for you guys, and they allowed you to still play free. They
asked for players simply to help out and pay the 5 dollars a month, which
I hope you realize is VERY cheap. Along with this you get many benefits
in the game.
PS: If I get a job in the future and my company does everything free,
how will I be making money again? Also, don't talk to me about this
"rude awakening" when I grow up, I am grown up.

It seems that you have also misunderstood the issue.
The issue is not about FREE or PAY.
The issue is about how I have personally been treated
by Cs in the game.
But since you asked.
If a company offers a free product or service to introduce their
tallents to the world. I promote that. Those companies also offer
paid service with greater benefits. I pormote that too. In fact
I quite enjoye games that are free and the creators of those games
have found very creative ways of financing their work.
Take me for example. I have a syndicated radio show.
It costs me nothing. The stations sell sponsorships
for my show in their market and they air my show.
I don't charge them, they don't charge me, we don't charge
the listener. Win, Win, Win situation.
And the "GROW UP" part was directed at ANYONE who is
so hell bent on the issue of screwing people over in the game.
I also think it is wrong for newbies to steal kills.
Level on Mice, Then Dogs, Then Ants and so on.

Sure, Faldon can start running advertisements to pay for itself. You know, you kill a dire, a pop-up selling some bullshit product will come up, you click out, and if you're still alive you can go back to your business until the next one. Like Lothar said, five dollars is next to nothing.
It's really great if you want to give everything away for free, but those who run Faldon clearly do not. They ask you to pay a small amount, and since it's their game, you should play by their rules. Or not play at all. Taking advantage of their system is by no means righteous.

One more thing...Faldon is not "Free" it should be treated as Shareware in that you trial it and if you like it you pay for it.

Why are we still holding this conversation =p I really saw nothing wrong in his initial post to be jumping on him about. So what that he is 34, Scott(aka Prariedawg) is older than most of us, and I think Penny is of an older age than most of us also and we never slammed them about it. Can't forget about Earl either, everyone likes Earl and he is probably the oldest Faldon player we have.
I'll say again that I don't have a problem with him helping those who need help. It's great. I encourage it. But in his posts about that, he expressed some other views, some of which, I, and obviously some others, disagreed with. So we said so.

I don't see what he has done wrong here, except for not hating GMs but otherwise I think that as long as he gives credit to the original authors of the product that he cites their should be no problem.
How can anyone hate the GMs? I love them all.. There is Crovax with his babysoft skin that will do anything I want in bed and I return the favor. Caff, Kiefer Sutherlands almost brother because they share a similar first name with that sexy rugged look that i want to eat him up. Tim with his experienced love making that will leave me on the tips of my toes for hours upon hours. Mumblee my cuddle bunny we sit in bed for hours snuggling in our toesies combing eachother's hair.
o they are all such a wonderful bunch!
