Can Master Wu or another GM get in touch with me either via here or in-game please? Baghy cloned a name I trusted to scam me for items! I have ss'd all the tells from Baghy asking me to tell this char and all the tells between said char asking for items. I can prove he scammed me, so I expect something to be done. Otherwise I will be having a look over on my recent Paypal statement. I don't pay to be robbed!

The illusory team is not responsible for your stupidity and does not need to recover any of ur in-game loss, they made that pretty clear in the To's you accepted before playing. Perhaps u will think twice next time before trusting anyone.
Another note, threatning anyone wont get you anywhere, besides paypal does not support virtual loss, so you would probbly loose that case, in worst scenario you could be filed for internet fraud

stop asking about the new client barbie, ive been hearing about it since i was younger then you are now, it aint coming. he might make a new skeleton here and there and a statue, but that aint shit, cant make a game out of that
Afther what i heard wu it was that a player made a fake ~haz0r~ user he made ~hazOr~ and tricked him in to mailing stuff to it.
Dastardly deeds are funny... I myself promote such actions!
In his defense, Wu, Faldon doesn't do a very good job of discouraging impersonation. I remember on old client I had fairly convincing fake GM accounts, and on three consecutive clients I found ways to make it look an arbitrary user was saying anything I wanted them to say.
It seems like because Faldon doesn't have any built in countermeasures for this sort of thing, and because the guy clearly created the account name with malicious intent, this might be worth looking into.
This is different from the recent issue with kr0nic, who was sharing his account. It seems like meanstreak was just trying to make a legitimate in-game transaction, through the game-provided mechanics, but was foiled by Faldon's crappy font selection. Is that really his fault?
Its how people make their money on faldon. Its no different than the LEvel Taxes I imposed on players a few years back.

lol someone made a fake l maximus l char, instead of those straight symbols they made a capital i or an lowercase L and sent me a mail to judy, they were smart tho, they made the subject Re: so it looked like one of my old mails.. i accidently lost my mrobe that way
I'm saying that since the other player did literally nothing other than abuse an issue with the game's font in order to get their items, then you're completely justified in taking them away just like if they were abusing another bug or oversight in the game. They didn't earn the items, and since it wasn't part of a trade or something else where there would be other variables in play, there's really no reason not to punish the scammer by taking his items away.
If I were still in a position to officiate, I would probably lay down punitive damages on top of returning the items against the guy, as well.
Okay, just so everyone knows the actual facts of what happened...
Firstly, Baghy telled me, supposedly sincerely passing on a message from ~Haz0r~ aka Red Baron that he wanted me to message him. 5 minutes later Red Baron. messaged me asking to borrow my awbs, aegis and a gtally cause he wnated con to equip something. And as me and him are constantly lending/swapping stuff etc, I (quite foolishly as it turned out) mailed him the items, having not noticed the Red Baron.! It was a nice play and attack on my good nature whilst I was busy! Once I mailed the gtally and asked for my stuff back, Red Baron. logged...
Also, as I've discovered today, Baghy used that aegis in trade with an agraboda for kscales just after my items were taken. I know it was my aegis, by the blue/hyena prefix/suffix and it even had the same dura/wear as mine did! Also, on this point, can I also add that Jerry (who was trading with Baghy) also feels he has been scammed. So again, another problems resulting from Baghy being allowed to slip the net!
Anyway, I've bought the aegis back now, and as luck would have it... been reimbursed with all the items I had lost and more (in GP) from blackjack! So seems like on this occasion, the game itself saw fit to see me alright again! So... I wont be quitting just yet!
I do still have the whole thing screen saved somewhere... but it's finding them lol! In any case, I accept Wu feels nothing can be done about Baghy, and that this scam was only allowed to take place due to my own carelessness, risk and momentary stupidity... 
And Judy, I was just annoyed having only paid for C 3 days earlier! I'm not angry at Zer, Wu or the running of the game, just fed up that nothing ever seems to get done about this sort of thing...

The point here is that a player has benefited from cheating. In the same way that it doesn't explicitly state in the ToS that abusing character names to scam other players is not allowed, it doesn't state that it's protected as legitimate functionality either. It's unreasonable to expect a comprehensive list of everything that is or is not allowed in game. This is where precedent needs to be set. If you don't set a precedent of punishing players who act this way, you are implicitly setting the precedent that this behavior is acceptable gameplay - there is no way to be neutral on this.
I can understand the hesitance to punish a player - especially given the small player base - based on something not clearly stated in the rules, but you can be sure that he and other players like him are going to continue acting this way unless they are given a reason not to. Is that what's really best for the game?

We're not neutral. It is acceptable behavior, and acceptable gameplay. Players are allowed to give game assets (items, gold, etc) to other players at their own risk, and own discretion. Players are allowed to deceive one another in-game.
Better fonts, better duplicate/similar name recognition, and offering explanations of policy in the TOS are good steps to take in minimizing the level at which people can do this sort of thing.

Got it. Good to hear that you've made a decision on the policy and it's now settled. I personally think it's absolutely the wrong decision, but then again it doesn't really effect me anyway.
