Topic: General spell issues

Recently started a new character as a mage and I had a few issues with some spells:

Earthquake - Doesn't seem to do anything when cast, no animation or noticeable damage

Curse - this will put a skull over my characters head, but I do not notice any reduction of resists (which I assume is what curse should do). Also when cast on a monster there is no skull animation, and no noticeable reduction in their resists or abilities. It would be nice if curse would reduce resists on monsters such a blue dragons, so they would be able to be defeated by a newish mage character

Bless - nice halo animation, but I do not notice anything happening when cast other than that. Not sure what Bless was meant to do, maybe lift curse?

+dmg % from items - Not sure if the dmg bonus from pre/suff on items extends to magic, but it does not seem to increase the damage delt. For example, I have +60% cold dmg, but my ice bolt and blizzard do not seem to be stronger. It would be nice if this buffed spell dmg, since it is hard to kill mobs as it is with anything other than Pcloud or clit.

Also my magic missile and charged bolt levels do not increase with my mage robe (+3MM) and wiz staff (+1 CB) items

I've fixed Earthquake not having any visual effect. Thanks for reporting this. (It does appear to do damage though. It's a bit like Blizzard in that, a single cast may not hit every tile.)

As to the rest, Curse and Bless only affect players presently. I do need to show bonuses, and yes, spell bonuses don't show at all. Definitely a bug. Hopefully I'll have time to fix those in the next week or two.

By the way, Beet, all the crash reports you are sending me...
Are you going back and forth between maps a lot, by any chance? It *seems* like it's crashing when switching maps by running out of memory, but that doesn't make a terrible lot of sense to me.

typically when using a portal after my guy has been online for a while. Most of the time to Arrakeen, but just had a crash on the way to charles, the portal just north of thieves town

Hello, trading doesn’t work for me as i cant put my items in the trade screen.
Also master robes dont have pants, maybe something u can fix?

A couple enchantments say "This enchantment is misconfigured, please contact James" when trying to use them.

Beet, how much RAM does your computer have? And what percent is typically free when playing Faldon? Lastly, when playing for a while, how much RAM is the game using? (You can check with Task Manager.) Thanks.

If the bug is what I think it is, today's update should fix it.

Crashing has been fixed it seems, haven't had any issues lately, thank you!

I'm curious how "The Watcher" works.. I was leveling in the dire cave today for the first time and I received a message stating my lack of movement was upsetting him. I then moved around the cave to other spawns and was teleported to some arena. After that I received messages stating I was upsetting the watcher every 10 minutes or so. Am I doing something wrong? I cannot seem to figure out it's triggers

The watcher was designed to be a moderator while moderators weren't around. If you're not stepping at least (x amount of tiles) while killing the same mob it may trigger. but if you travel to different mobs and not just stand in the same spot, it should'nt trigger. but i remember before we quit he needed to be tweeked for sure. It's not perfect, but its honest work xD.

Just a couple random bugs, not spell related at the title suggests

1. when using telekinesis on piles of bones, they act like the soccer ball, going away from you rather than to you
2. Mobs on lower Z levels will attack you

Another issue on top of the previous two is that when you put on parental controls: no death or bleeding animations, after you kill a mob, you will continue attacking its ghost for a while as it fades out of frame
