Topic: Finding Strength and Joy in Faldon

Hello everyone,

I want to share what I have been working on recently. The energy of the Christmas season has been inspiring me, and I have poured that into scripting. Right now, I'm in a psych ward due to a misunderstanding with my doctor. I can admit that I became very immersed in the Faldon world and scripting, and my enthusiasm got a bit intense, which led to my current situation. Even so, I'm staying positive and holding onto my passions.

I have been focusing on scripting for both OG Faldon and Open Faldon. This Christmas, I'm excited to spend time with my family and reconnect with the Faldon community. The kindness and care that the Faldon team has shown over the years have always inspired me. Zer, Master Wu, Mr Spy, Alumet, and Ziegen, the way you have treated the community has been something I have admired deeply since I was a child.

As a kid, I experimented with the script tool of Faldon. I was curious about how it worked and enjoyed trying out different ideas, even though I did not fully understand it at the time. Now, taking up scripting as a hobby has been incredibly fun. It has been such a joy to dive into it and learn as I go. I have found out that I want to spend much of my days scripting because it is an amazing and rewarding hobby.

After all those years when I quit playing, taking up scripting has become an exciting way to reconnect with Faldon. I want to channel positive energy and love into the scripts I create, knowing they can contribute to the game and the community.

I have such a deep passion for Faldon that it feels like a flame burning in my heart, and it grows stronger every time I log in and explore this amazing created world. This flame is not just about playing the game, it is about feeling connected to something special, something that has brought me so much joy and meaning. This passion makes me want to give back to Faldon in any way I can, to contribute to the game and community that have meant so much to me.

I truly admire Faldon. It is the best game I have ever found, both in its design and in the experience it offers. Everything about it, from the way it works to the feeling it gives, makes it stand out as something unique. Faldon is not just a game to me, it is a place where I feel at home and inspired, a world I want to help grow so that others can feel the same magic I do to it.

Over the years, I have learned more about Faldon’s structure while hosting Open Faldon and collaborating with others. I explored C# for the Open Faldon server and even dived into C++ with Unreal Engine for my own game. However, I have paused that project to dedicate my energy to Faldon. This game has always been incredibly meaningful to me. It feels like stepping into a world that I have known before.

Growing up, I was bullied often at school. I do not blame anyone for it because I allowed them to treat me that way. I did not stand up for myself, which gave them the power to do so. After those rough days at school, Faldon became my go to place. It was a world where I felt I could live better than in the physical one. Diving into Faldon allowed me to escape the pain of reality and find joy in a world that felt safe and welcoming.

Playing first as Karl Archer, I spent hours hunting orcs and camping for ruin armor, which was one of my favorite moments in the game. I still remember the thrill of finally getting a piece of ruin armor, though my excitement was so intense that my mom unplugged the internet connection because she misunderstood what was happening.

Even now, Faldon holds a special place in my heart. It is not just a game. It resonates with me on a level that is hard to put into words. All I want is to help create positive, joyful experiences for others, spreading kindness and love throughout the community.

I also believe deeply in the importance of creating a welcoming environment for the next generation of players. New people are always coming into Faldon, and we have a responsibility to take care of them. These new generations need to experience a world filled with love, kindness, and respect. I'm all in for sharing a wonderful Christmas event, especially for the children.

The joy of the world lies with the children, and they deserve to step into a magical place where they can feel safe, happy, and cared for. Children bring so much light, hope, and wonder into life, and it is our responsibility to create spaces that nurture their imaginations and fill them with joy. A place like Faldon can be so much more than a game for them, it can be a world where they can explore, dream, and feel a sense of belonging.

They deserve a space that is free from negativity, where they can experience kindness and love, where every adventure feels exciting, and where every corner of the world feels welcoming. I want Faldon to be a place where they can laugh, grow, and create memories that will stay with them for years to come. It is not just about fun, it is about building a community where they feel valued, respected, and part of something truly special.

While here in the psych ward, I have been working on some festive new features for Faldon. I have designed a snow overlay for most maps, with variations depending on the area, and blinking Christmas lights for the towns. I'm also scripting playful activities like snowball fights to bring out that childlike joy we all remember. It is about adding something fun and new to the game.

This year on Faldon has truly helped me find strength in some of the darkest moments of my life. There were times when I felt lost, overwhelmed, and unsure of how to move forward, but Faldon gave me a place to escape and rebuild my inner strength. The love and support I feel in this community has been a light for me, guiding me through those challenging times and reminding me that I'm never alone.

Being part of this community has been more than just playing a game, it has been about feeling connected to others, sharing kindness, and finding joy even when things seemed heavy. The warmth and care of the people here have been a source of hope, lifting me up when I needed it most. Faldon is not just a game, it is a place where I have found inspiration, friendship, and a reason to keep pushing forward.

I have been trying to reach out on Discord to collaborate on these ideas but have not had much luck, so I thought the forums might be a better way to connect. My goal is to help make the 2024 Christmas event truly special. As a Norwegian, I feel a deep connection to the Viking era setting of Faldon, and I'm passionate about contributing something positive to this amazing world that has been created.

Since I first stepped into Faldon at seven years old, it has felt like coming home. Now, I want to give back by ensuring the game remains fair and filled with kindness and respect, values that are especially important for the next generation of players. To me, this community feels like a digital family, and I'm so grateful for the closeness we share.

I would love to share my two new scripts with you if you are open to it. They bring a fresh, festive dimension to the game. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I truly appreciate and care about all of you.

I love you all. You all on Faldon mean so much to me.

God bless you, James.
I love you, James.
Peace and love.
